Shanghai Phoenix Alloy supplied approximately 35 metric tons of UNS N08825 (Alloy 825) sheet and plate for ADNOC Offshore’s Lower Zakum Long Term Development Plan Phase 1 (LTDP-1) in the UAE. The order covered three dimensions—2 × 1,220 × 3,000 mm, 3 × 1,220 × 3,000 mm, and 8 × 1,220 × 3,000 mm—against the project’s material and corrosion-resistance requirements.
Project Supply Overview
- End user: ADNOC Offshore
- Project: Lower Zakum Long Term Development Plan Phase 1 (LTDP-1)
- Material: UNS N08825 / Alloy 825
- Product form: Sheet and plate
- Total quantity: Approximately 35 metric tons
- Sizes supplied: 2 × 1,220 × 3,000 mm; 3 × 1,220 × 3,000 mm; and 8 × 1,220 × 3,000 mm
- Project corrosion-resistance criterion: PREN greater than 31, calculated using the project-approved method and actual heat chemistry
Why a PREN Above 31 Matters in the Lower Zakum Project
PREN (Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number) is a chemistry-based index for comparing relative resistance to localized pitting corrosion. It is not a percentage, a material ratio, or a direct prediction of service life. A commonly used calculation is PREN = %Cr + 3.3 × %Mo + 16 × %N; the project specification’s agreed formula and acceptance rules should govern.
For this ADNOC Offshore supply, a PREN threshold above 31 gives the project a measurable chemistry screen for Alloy 825 heats. In offshore service zones where chloride-bearing water or process media are present, resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion can be an important part of material selection. The index helps compare heat chemistry and confirm that the specified threshold is met before the sheets move into fabrication.
The PREN value should be calculated from each heat’s actual chemical analysis on its mill test certificate (MTC), using the project-approved formula. PREN is only one selection input: operating chemistry, temperature, design conditions, fabrication, weld quality, surface condition and the applicable project code must also be assessed. Alloy 825 is recognized for good resistance to chloride-induced pitting and crevice corrosion and is used in oil and gas applications, but no single PREN value by itself guarantees suitability for every service condition.

Protective Packing for Project Delivery
The sheets were protected and secured in wooden crates for handling and transportation. The packing photos show the protective wrapping and the finished crates prepared for the project order.

For project orders involving multiple thicknesses, clear material identification and stable packing help support organized handling throughout the delivery process.
Nickel Alloy Supply for Energy Projects
Project material requirements can vary by grade, size, applicable standard, quantity and delivery schedule. Shanghai Phoenix Alloy supplies nickel alloy sheets and other product forms—including plates, bars, pipes, forgings, wire and strip—to support industrial and energy-sector projects.
